Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries Announces Major Program Milestones

Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries (OYM) held its semiannual board meeting on Friday, May 8, 2026, at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The day began with a Divine Liturgy celebrated in the St. George Chapel at St. Elijah's before transitioning to a full day with Board Members and Staff.
Key Announcements
OYM unveiled the Godparent Project, a professionally produced 37-minute video resource developed in partnership with Andrew and Stephan Robinson, creators of Patristix. Designed to explain the sacred responsibilities of godparenting, the resource will be distributed to clergy and parishes nationwide through WhatsYourMinistry.org, OYM's national digital hub for Orthodox ministry resources. The site has already surpassed 5,000 visitors in its first month of operation.
OYM’s Removing the Veil ministry course is now in its second cohort. OYM projects 75 to 100 participants by year's end, who will directly impact 750 to 1,000 lives through immediate relationships and communities.
Finally, the OYM board and staff expressed their sincere appreciation to Sandra Glisic, OYM’s outgoing Director of Operations, for her five years of outstanding service to the organization, wishing her well in her new role at the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago.
