WHO WE ARE
On October 4, 2021, during its “Year of the Youth,” the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America voted unanimously to establish an Orthodox ministry to work with and unite jurisdictional efforts to minister to youth and young adults. Orthodox Youth & Young Adult Ministries (OYM) was founded to fulfill this purpose.
OYM was founded to help youth, young adults, and those who care for them be fully transformed through the Orthodox Faith. We seek to build up the entire household of God so that young people have a fruitful environment in which to discover who they are in Christ, become an integral part of the body of Christ, and find their God-given purpose in life.
OYM comes alongside parishes, priests, and parents in all Orthodox jurisdictions, as well as anyone who cares about youth and young adult ministries, providing them with the tools and guidance needed to help shape a new generation of faithful Orthodox Christians. We provide transformational events and resources to support the ministry efforts of parishes, dioceses, metropolises, and jurisdictional headquarters.
OYM was created by the Assembly of Bishops with a big task – to help build up the faith of youth and young adults in Orthodox jurisdictions across the country. We can think of no greater calling than to serve the next generation of our Orthodox young people, and we invite you to join us.
