To Pass on a Faith Where Every Young Person Can Encounter Christ, Embody His Church, and Engage the World in His Name.
OYM equips and supports clergy, parents, and ministry workers to meet the 5 needs of young people:
To know Jesus Christ.
To know oneself in relation to Christ.
To belong to the full community of the Church.
To be empowered with a faith that makes a difference.
To be entrusted with the witness of the Church.
OYM does this by:
Providing resources, trainings, retreats, and events.
Offering support to parishes, jurisdictions, and regions.
Evaluating the effectiveness of this work on an ongoing basis.
Christ is the Alpha and Omega (Rev. 21:6) and as such, all things revolve around He who is the beginning point and end goal of all OYM seeks to do.
Before serving others, we are Christ followers first, seeking to imitate and share His love so that all people might know we are His disciples (Jn. 13:35).
Working well with others for the Good News of the Kingdom of God is a full expression of St. Paul’s call to put on love as the perfect bond of unity (Col. 3:14).
Though the Gospel is unchanging, our methods of communication must change with the times so that we might be all things to all people in order to save some (1 Cor. 9:22).
